Carlos Sánchez Buradòn Las Plegarias originates from La Rad, the only plot in this area that Carlos Sánchez owns, characterized by clay-limestone soils with surface stones. This terrain, where the vines grow at over 400 meters altitude, is also very close to La Bastida.

With Carlos Sánchez Buradòn Las Plegarias, which ferments in foudres and barrels, not only is the most intimate side of this vintner revealed, but it also serves as a good exercise to observe the differences between this garnacha—cultivated in La Rioja Alta—and the garnacha that Carlos Sánchez produces in the Sierra de Gredos—where he began his winemaking journey. Specifically, this variety, one of the most planted in Spain, exhibits nuances quite distinct from what is customary in this region: while most Rioja reds display body and weight on the palate, Carlos Sánchez Buradòn Las Plegarias reveals greater lightness and fluidity, more akin to the garnachas from the Sierra de Gredos (where granite soils are prevalent).

As mentioned, Carlos Sánchez Buradòn Las Plegarias will ferment in foudres and barrels (600 and 500 litres respectively). Prior to this, it will undergo minimal treatment, as it is not even destemmed.
